Guidance and counselling for immigrants
The City of Kotka offers guidance and counselling services for immigrants living in the Etelä-Kymenlaakso region. The service provides free information on important everyday matters, such as how to function in Finnish society and the services available in your city of residence. The reason for your arrival in Finland or how long you have lived in Finland does not affect your access to the service.
The guidance and counselling service is also available to public authorities, employers, organisations and others who need information on immigration-related issues. You can ask for advice on issues such as:
- residence permits, citizenship
- social security and benefits (Kela)
- matters relating to job search and employment
- educational opportunities, Finnish language learning
- housing
- leisure and hobbies
- help with filling in the forms
