Kotka upper secondary school
Kotkan lyseo is a broad-based general upper secondary school school in Kotka. You can choose from a wide range of courses and focus your studies in many different ways:
- Creative lyseo offers a choice between a fine arts concentration and a wide range of music studies.
- In Studies in English, part of the coursework is taught in English.
- Athlete training is aimed at people who are goal-oriented athletes.
- Environmental studies offer the opportunity to dive deep into environmental issues.
Karhula upper secondary school
Karhulan lukio is a well-performing general upper secondary school in Kotka, offering a broad general education foundation for further studies. It offers a wide range of general studies with different emphases:

Hamina upper secondary school
Haminan lukio is a general upper secondary school in Hamina offering high-quality education. Hamina’s upper secondary school has performed well in upper secondary school comparisons: in 2024 it was the best upper secondary school in Kymenlaakso.
- Students at Hamina upper secondary school can apply to the Sports Academy (Etelä-Kymenlaakson Urheiluakatemia), which allows them to combine goal-oriented sports with their academic studies.
Vocational education and training in the Kotka-Hamina region
Vocational training in the Kotka-Hamina region is provided by Ekami Vocational College in the Etelä-Kymenlaakso region. Ekami has three campuses, two in Kotka and one in Hamina. Ekami has a wide range of fields of study to choose from.
