Job search support for immigrants

Anthony Brantberg, a job coach, started working for the City of Kotka in March. Job coaching is new in integration services. The coaching supports people with an immigrant background from Kotka in finding a job or training place. The coaching includes personal help with job search, CV and application writing, preparing for job interviews and identifying personal strengths.

– I work in a very practical way. We look for jobs together right away: calling employers, filling in applications and considering realistic options, Anthony explains.

If needed, the coaching can help you get more training, such as a hygiene passport or Finnish occupational safety card. The service is open to all, with no age limit and the client does not have to be in the integration period. International students and their spouses are also welcome. Although the task is new to integration services, demand is already high.

– Any progress made by a client is a success. The main goal is to find employment or a training place for the person being coached, but even small steps forward are important, says Anthony.

Coaching for immigrants is personal and happens mostly in meetings in Kotka.

You can apply for coaching by contacting Anthony Brantberg directly on phone +358 40 124 3305, anthony.brantberg@kotka.fi
